Sandy's Land participate with the Celebrity Book Fair

10:00 am Gallery Talk with Jerry Pinkney in the Witness: The Art of Jerry Pinkney* exhibit - AT&T Gallery (requires museum admission)
11:00 am Living Arts Detroit (performance) - Multi-Purpose Room
11:30 am Detroit Windsor Dance Academy featuring Miss Black Michigan Alescia Hollowell - Multi-Purpose Room
12:00 pm Thiosane Performing Arts Company of Nsoroma Institute - Multi-Purpose Room
1:00 pm Storytelling with Gloria Jean Pinkney - Orientation Theater (Lower Level)
1:45 pm Gallery Talk with Jerry Pinkney in the Witness: The Art of Jerry Pinkney exhibit - AT&T Gallery (requires museum admission)
3:30 pm Storytelling with Gloria Jean Pinkney - Orientation Theater (Lower Level)

Free face painting by Sandra Epps begins at 11 am. Children’s workshops take place every hour from 10 am – 4 pm.

Guests will also be able to meet authors and have books signed by Jerry and Gloria Jean Pinkney.

1 – 3 pm Jerry Pinkney Meet and Greet and Book Signing - Tent
1 – 5 pm Interactive puppet perfomances by Matrix Theatre Company - Orientation Theater (Lower Level)
1:30 pm Storytelling with Gloria Jean Pinkney - Multi-Purpose Room
2:30 pm Detroit Windsor Dance Academy featuring Miss Black Michigan Alescia Hollowell - Multi-Purpose Room
3:00 pm Thiosane Performing Arts Company of Nsoroma Institute - Multi-Purpose Room

Free face painting by Sandra Epps begins at 1 pm. Children’s workshops take place every hour from 1 pm – 5 pm.

Also on-site will be a number of noted local children’s book authors, including Andre Batts, Ronnie Boggess, Karen Dabney, Anita Gibbs, Phyllis Gilmore, Denise Crittendon, and David Watkins. Over 2,200 books giveaways will take place, courtesy of First Book.
PLEASE NOTE: Witness: The Art of Jerry Pinkney and other Museum exhibits are free with Museum admission. The Book Fair and associated activities are free without admission.
